C'Naanza Amih
Wild-hearted Fist of Vylbrand
Bio
C'naanza was born ninteen years ago to the Coerul tribe of Thanalan. Her childhood was uneventful until, as she began to train herself in the use of her tribe's weapons, an Ala Mhigan refugee monk took note of her talent for evasion and the swift kicks that she'd already begun to favor. She was quite capable and learned quickly- but had precious little patience for the finer details of focusing one's chakra through meditation or practice. Instead, she preferred to rush off and "practice" on whichever hapless animal or poacher she happened upon!Unsurprisingly, her mentor was infuriated by her lack of restraint, and eventually refused to teach C'naanza further until she learned patience and discipline. She was infuriated, and packed her bags to leave for Vylbrand the next morning- leaving her tribe behind.C'naanza quickly became enamored with the freewheeling port town and its people, learning the ways of the sea and joining one of Limsa's many ship's crews as a deckhand. She continued to have many chances to fight, and slowly, her chakra began to open. But without having ever learned to focus the aether of her chakra in a responsible way, she's struggled to make progress past her first chakra for quite some time.
Circumstances conspired against her, though- with a friend captured by an auspice, she joined the group going to rescue him, and was wounded in the process. Her chakra became blocked by the aramitama left behind, stopping her progress. It wasn't until recently that she finally learned of a way to overcome this- such afflictions of one's internal aether and spirit are familiar to the Thundering Mountain Sect of Nagxia. They practice a radically different sort of monk's arts, focused around focusing and refining one's qi, spiritual energy. With their aid, she was able to at least overcome the block to her progress- and now, she has a great deal of growing and catching up to do with her strength.
Now, she finds herself at a crossroads- It's not too late for her to reconnect with her old mentor or her tribe, but does she even want to? And while the path of cultivation will near certainly lead her to power, will she at last find a discipline to her liking?

In Character
C'naanza is aggressively friendly and curious, routinely walking up to complete strangers and asking them blunt questions about their outfits, appearances, or anything else that might even remotely pique her interest. She's recently become conflicted about her long-term goals and her fighting style- to the point that duties or obligations of others are something of a sore spot for her. Some part of her realizes she can't keep ignoring those sorts of things forever, but she is loathe to admit it.It's hardly a se/c/ret that sailors and such are adventurous in matters of love. She doesn't tie herself too strongly to any one person, but prefers a date or social event before getting frisky.Other skills, disciplines, and lines of work fascinate C'naanza. On a couple of occasions, she's started new jobs serving tables or helping at various guilds, only to ultimately flake a couple of weeks later. As a result, she can often be seen pestering the leaders of those guilds and groups about what they do and how people start doing it.
Out of Character
C'naanza is (for now) primarily an RP alt- if I'm on, I'm almost certainly down to RP.Time Zone: PST. I tend to play C'naanza in the overnight hours, though.I've RPed a lot in other formats, but not much before in XIV. I might occasionally ask questions about what some tags mean or what norms are for RP.I prefer for all my RP to have some form of characterization to it- even if it's a relatively light scene. I've got a lot of experience helping people figure out how they want their characters to think, feel, and act, so feel free to bug me about it if you've got writer's block. Now seeking an RP FC to join in- prefer an FC with a theme to it, but not particularly interested in RPing for gil.Other interests: history, politics, speedrunning, LEGOs
